THE STORY
PLAZMA is a popular Russian band. PLAZMA are: Roman Chernitsyn (vocals, lyrics, music) and Maxim Postelniy (background vocals, keyboards, music and arrangements). They were born and grew up together in Volgograd , Russia . Their music can be classified as a pop-rock/synthy-pop style. The first two albums were sold in Russia with a total number of more than 1 million copies. Currently the third album is being recorded.
The songs reach top places in Russian charts (radio stations such as Europe Plus, Hit-FM, Dynamite FM etc.) For several consecutive years PLAZMA received a prize as the band with the biggest number of broadcasts in Russia.
Quite often PLAZMA participates in different TV shows on MTV Russia and other music channels. Their music videos are on air on a constant basis on MTV Russia, Muz-TV, Music Box and other music channels. Their most recognizable hit songs are – “Take My Love”, “Lonely”, “Sweetest Surrender”, “You'll Never Meet An Angel”, “Memories”.
After finding fame in their native city in the end of 90s, PLAZMA settled in Moscow and began the “conquest” of Russia from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok.
PLAZMA 's first single, “Take My Love” (on which a video was released soon) made it to the top of all popular Russian music charts. Later in the same year, a second video was completed for the song "The Sweetest Surrender" - a brilliant non-stop action-filled music video jumping with vibe and energy.
In December 2000 PLAZMA 's debut album was released. It took its title from the song "Take My Love" . Immediately after its release, the CD became #1 in Russia. PLAZMA was quickly becoming popular not only in Russia but throughout Eastern Europe.
PLAZMA 's second album (released in the end of 2002), named enigmatically “607”, differs from the earlier sounds of the group. It is more contemporary, sophisticated music with complex melodies that, in essence, show the present creative direction of the group, and serves as solid proof that PLAZMA is one of the most influential groups in Russia today.
Band's last to the moment single is called “One Life”. The video for this song was directed by Kevin Jackson in August 2005 and features a breathtaking story of a miraculous healing with the help of love.
While the guys are working on yet another album, the band continue their whirlwind tour all across Russia. PLAZMA has plans to enlarge their live musical staff, further to a guitarist performing with them at present time, which promises to make the mix and the fullness of the sound more exciting than ever.
